Default 2001+ drill mod question

I was looking at this master cylinder I bought out of a 2001, and looks like the "Drill Mod" was already done??? Is the drill mod only good for pre 2001? Or you think this was just done by whoever owned this before me? Thanks.

If the drill mod was indeed done on your master cylinder, then it was done by the previous owner. None of the master cylinders from the factory, regardless of year, come with an equivelant of the drill mod.

ok, how can I tell FOR SURE if the drill mod has been done? The hole looks nice and big just like in pics on ls1tech.com. I DID NOT yet run a drill bit throught there though.

No way to tell for sure unless you try putting the drill bit in that you're supposed to use for the drill mod... if there's quite a bit of room in there with the drill bit in, then it probably has been done.

Drill mod is done with a 1/8 inch drill bit. Try to see if one fits in (only goes in about an inch or so).

My car is a 2001 and has not had the drill mod done, but clutch works fine and locks up imediately, so I've seen no reason to mess with it. Maybe the 2001's do have a bigger hole from the factory.
