If you've bled the clutch a good bit and you have good solid pedal pressure then your slave is not extending far enough to completely release the clutch. So you need SOMETHING to give the slave a tad more travel to release the clutch. A shim or a larger capacity MC is the only way I know of. Unless you put in the wrong slave by chance or something. If two guys on here are having issues with the same setup I'd say : "Shim it or MC it"!

I should also mention, before when the tranny is in 1st gear there was a metallic clunking-like sound occasionally comming from the bellhousing area.

update, I talked to Pete and he recommended doing a different slave bleed method. Pump the pedal about 10x, then leave it out, unscrew the bleeder, quickly push the pedal down and hold it, then tighten the bleeder. I did this method about 4 times, and then re-mityvac'd the MC reservor (only got a few very small bubbles).

I cant notice any big difference in the pedal but I tried starting it up and I was able to get it into gear with just a little bit of grinding. (definitely not like before).

I tried putting it in first and push the clutch in and apply brakes and it still stalls the engine.

-Now, the clinking sound comes and goes (it sounds possibly like something is binding maybe). If I pump the pedal a few times, put it in first, I may not hear it (with clutch in or out)
-If the tranny is in neutral it dosent make the sound, only in a gear.
-If I put it in first and it starts making the sound, if I push the clutch pedal it still will make it.
-Once it didnt make the sound when I had it in first with the clutch in, then after about 30 sec. it started making the noise (with cluch pedal pressed still)

That sound could be the driveshaft rubbing on something or the u-joints or rearend making noise.
You said it doesn't make the sound when the trans is in neutral, which means the driveshaft, rearend and wheels are not spinning...correct?

Sounds like all you need is an adjustable MC. I realize you don't want to spend the extra money for it but that's the greatest chance of fixing the problem at this point.
