Default problems lauching the spec stage 3

took the car to the track last night for the first time on the new clutch which is more than broken in had about 1k miles on it as of last night.......a little back round first mods are hooker lt, slp LM, K&N FIPK, tnt f1 kit spraying a 100shot running bfg drag radials 275-40-17......on the stock clutch i launched at 4300ish slipping the clutch just a tad and then dumping it when the suspension compressed on the rear of the car........i cut consistant 1.8's with some 1.7's

now with the new clutch last night tried to lauch the same blew the tires apart took the revs down to about 3800-3900 slipped the clutch longer on video the car moved about 2-3 feet and then lit the tires up.....last pass rolled out of the hole at like 3500 and the car bogged

for those of u running the spec stage 3 clutch what is the best way to lauch on this clutch or what would u guys recomend....on the stock clutch the car went 11.63@120.3 w/ a 1.75 60'

Your clutch is not the problem.Might be time to switch to a set of ET streets.

The Spec Stg. 3 grabs a lot harder than an LS1 stocker, making it much more difficult to slip. Like 02SOMWS6 said, tires are going to help a bunch because that clutch tends to act like an "on/off switch."

update.............went to the track again friday didnt have the the problems with the tires blowing off i think i can put that more on track prep as friday night is more of the ricer night at the track i go to........

anyway wed night the first pass the clutch spun up right off the line........after 1st gear just coasted and let it cool down for about and hour......2nd pass it slipped hard at about 5000rpm.....every gear.....let it cool down again this time for about 30min made 3 back to back passes the first pass bogged on purpose to see if it would grab enough to pull out of the bog.....it did the 2nd pass it spun up a little bit in 4th......on the last pass everything seemed to be fine...

is this something they all go through as the break into to track use or whats the deal here......im ready to throw the stock clutch back in......atleast with that i can cut 1.7's

something dosen't sound right. You should have no clutch slippage at all. My clutch saw 1 tank of gas of city and hwy driving as a break in. From there the car went to the track and was launched at 5800-6200 and cutting 60ft.'s in the 1.62- 1.56 range. No slipping on any passes. You should have no slipping on any passes. You may need to upgrade your hydrolics or re-bleed your master. This clutch is a on - off style clutch. It dosen't like to be slipped , so if you have been trying to launch the same as before with this clutch you might have done some damage. Hopefully not, and it's just your hydrolics
