What's a T56 rebuildable core worth?
I took my car to a tranny shop, and they want to rebuild the trans, and say it'll cost around $1500. I found a recently rebuilt tranny I want to buy, that costs $1000. So then I'll have my old T56 lying around, and need to get rid of it.
If you didn't read my other post, 5th and 6th gear don't engage, and I need a new clutch and hydraulics. The car also has 200,000 miles on it. Is my current T56 worth anything as a rebuildable core? It looks like places that rebuild T56's have a core charge between $500 and $700, but I doubt mine's worth that much to somebody (but I'd be pleased if it was). What's reasonable to expect to get for it?
Thanks,
Miles

It's worth more than that. Last year I bought a T56 that was stuck in gear for 750 with a hurst competition plus and that was a great deal compared to prices people were asking for thers. I see prices have been a little lower now but I bet you could get 600 for it.

Got mine, and EVERTYTHING for the A4 to M6 swap for $500, and it shifted fine, just was starting to shift hard, so I had it gone through completely with D&D Performance Parts!

Stuck in gear is an easy fix and very cheap. Plus it already has 200k miles on it....
