Question Centerforce Clutch

Anyone with a certerforce or had experience with them good or bad? I am looking to put a new clutch in and want to go ahead and research and order to have on hand before the current one gives. Do they grab good and how long do they last?

i had centerforce in my car, it has very heavy peddle pressure, but engagement like stock, and my car only got 398rwhp and smoke the clutch, so i think if your car is like stock, should be great clutch if you like heavy peddle. btw, my centerforce disc is more than half way through and was put it in when car got 10k i took it out at 24k

Mine worked great until I bumped up the rpm to 7000. I am in the preccess of pulling right bow b/c it welded itself to the flywheel. B4 I had full exhaust and 100 shot of spray and the centerforce worked great. So if you are staying near stock or doing minor mods I would say do it.

What kind of driving style do you drive your car? Do you ream the **** out of it all the time or just on occasion? The pedal stiffness doesn't bother me. Mushy easy to push clutch pedals are tougher to get the hang of (my oppinion). What were you best 1/4 times and 60` times with centerforce?

I'd like to know also, (98nosz28) I have a centerforce in my car, I've done about 20 45k launches at the track, I then pulled it out to balance the fly wheel due to vibration problems, the disk still looked new, I did have some other problems but they were fly wheel related.

well, i normally drive like old lady, but sometime i get on it hard and abuse a little.
as far as track time, well, i kinda suck at it, but friend of mine used to own my car went 7.20 with 1.6 60' in the 1/8th(with 12 bolt and slick) with centerforce clutch

It is not a daily driver. So every time that I drove it I ussually bagged it a fair amount. Like I said I loved the clutch until I redid my engine and raised the rpm to 7000. As for the times they suck but you have to remember our track is about a second off the states times. My best was a 12.627 @115.5mph and a 2.2 60' on street tires, stick gears, running 405rwhp N/A.

Here are a few pics of the clutch, it looks like maybe a defect.

Were you at full throttle when this happened, or were you launching it from a dead stop. I'm just trying to debate, weather to put it back in or go another route, it's a pain in the *** to keep doing this on a vette.

It just kept getting worse. The first time it gave me trouble was at the track and it would not let me shift from 1 to 2. But then I drove home 160miles without any trouble. It got worse every day after that until there was no clutch at all.

That was some carnage of the clutch for sure. What I am looking for is good pedal pressure with the pedal having to be almost to the floor for full disengagement. That is what has worked best for me. Hold the clutch to the floor, slam the gas while letting the foot slip off of the clutch has given me good launches. Maybe I'll just completely fry the thing and take it to the dealer since it is under warranty.

How long did you have the clutch, miles? Do the offer any kind of warranty against defects such as yours. I would have made some calls. I am pretty sure that if my clutch wouldn't slip I could pull off a 12.8-12.9 with a better tune. I have new Goodyear F1. Made the dealer replace and have pulled a 2.07 60' with the clutch noticably slipping in 1st and 2nd for a best of 13.21 @ 108. Would have ran again but got my helmet warning so I called it a night. 1 3/4 mid length headers, no cats, no emmissions BS, and a minor HP Tune that deleted CAGS and stopped the computer from pulling timing.
