Default Now what!!!??? 2nd to 3rd prob.

Hey guys.. seriously bummin here. Just ordered 2500 in parts to beef up my ride. Parts still in the mail but when I took my car out today to do some WOT runs, I realize that when I take it to redline (6500) in 2nd, the car wont go into 3rd. I know its not me because I tried several times. If I short shift it at about 5,500k no problem. It's like its going into a knotch like there is suposed to be a gear there but its not.

i used to have that problem, sucks!!! everytime when i run someone, it take about 2 or more sec to get in 3rd, after i do drill mod, the problem is gone, you should try it if you didn't do the drill mod.

anyone have a link to the "drill mod" ... he's got a McLeod master cylinder and clutch ... my knowledge of manuals sux... so not sure if that would eliminate the need for the "drill mod" ?

I know i've heard of the drill mod (somehow fluid's not returning fast enough to disengage the clutch?) but I don't know exactly what it is....

Do a search..

But I believe it's more than that!! If he can shift at 5500 rpms but not at 6500 rpms then the problem is more like the pressure plate is not fulley disengageing.. He might need a spacer plate behind the slave cylinder.. as well..

I dont think I need the dril mod if I have the adjustable master. As far as the spacer... that might be something. That would suck though. I just changed my clutch 3 months ago. Wassup with the spacer? Someone else must have had this problem.

adj master only for the peddle traval, when to engage. it does flow quite bit more, but with the restrictor there is like put on long tube with 3"collector, and step down to single 2" pipe. its the restrictor that is been bad

Like most people in here it's usually hydrolics.. But your cars hydrolics are fine, seems like.. Your pressure plate is not disengageing.. You can do 2 things.. Drop the Tranny, take out the Slave cylinder and put a spacer behind it. Or better yet get the McCloud Adjustable Master Cylinder.

In the upper Extreme RPMS your Pressure plate is not disengaging enough to shift properly. I'll bet you developed some hot spots as well on the pressure plate and flywheel.. You need to get the pressure plate to Fulley dis-engage. To do that you need to get the slave cylinder closer to to the pressure plate fingers with that spacer, or the adjustable Master Cylinder..

If it was in my hands I would drop the Tranny and see whats going on.. I'll bet your Carbon Or Kevlar pads are little flared out, perhaps and causing the problem of not disengageing. A Slave cylinder can only travel so far, so the option of dropping the trans and spacer on the slave is what I reccomend..

opps.. You already have the Mc-Cloud.. Drop the Tranny.. Sorry.. You know I had the same problem kinda, but I adjusted my master cylinder a lot to fix it.

How did you adjust your master to fix it? Doesnt the master just adjust the pedal height?
