Default play in t56 rear bushing

Pulled the driveshaft today to have it rebalanced and noticed it had a slight
amount of play in the trans bushing. How tight are these normally? The seal is not leaking but the play seemed a litle excessive to me.Had maybe .015 -020
slop in it.Im chasing a vibration from 40 -65 mph and was wondering if this is
what may be causeing it.Noticed some slight marking on the yolk from the bushing but no gauling or damage. This car has 27k on it and this is the 3rd
driveshaft ,stock,3" chromemoly,3 1/2 aluminum.
TIA
Mark

Rebalance cured the vibration but I still have concerns on the rear bushing. Can one
of you rebuilders please comment on the tolerance on the rear bushing please? The
pst driveshaft I bought was not balanced at all from the factory, stay away from these
guys.

are you having any shifting problems or jumping out of gear problems? if not, i wouldn't worry about it. there is no bushing like in an automatic. there are tapered roller bearings at the front and the back, with a selectable shim at the front. the only "bushing" is part of the extension housing itself. to answer your question, there is no radial play spec but there is an axial(front and back) spec of 0 to .002 inch(per the TTC manual)
Extension,
Bushing assy
Check bushing ID for scoring or other damage Replace assy if bushing is damaged
