Default T56 swap complete!!!

Finally, after over 2 months it is finally back on the road again. As some of you know a couple weeks ago the clutch wouldnt completely release. I bled and bled the hydraulics to no avail. I swapped out the slave and put in a Ram adjustable master and I couldnt be happier!

Tips for those attempting the swap...GET NEW HYDRAULICS!! Dont bother with used ones..pulling the tranny to swap a slave is a PITA.

if you don't mind me asking, what took so long? I did my complete swap in two days. I guess they hydrolic issues may have taken a while though.

My t56 took 3 weeks to come in. Then waiting on various parts to arrive (and doing the hydraulics twice). I figured I may as well tear it down if I wasnt gonna drive it (input shaft was gone on my 4L60e).

It was well worth the effort though. I am one happy camper!!!

I figured you were waiting for parts. I would have done the same thing if I had something else to drive. But since this is my only car, I had to do it quick.

Did you have any problems getting the reverse lights to work. After my swap i can't get the reverse lights to work and my blinkers don't work, i also can't get the damn hvac controls to work again. Have you already flashed your ecm. I did my swap over 2 months ago and have been fighting these 3 things ever since. I followed the write-up exactly on the wiring but ill be damned if they won't work. I don't know if an ecm flash has anything to do with it. Also do you quite a bit of noise coming in through the hole you cut in the floorboard or did you use an aluminum driveshaft with the stock mount? Congrats on the swap I love my 6-speed now to, well after the clutch gets fixed

All the wiring was pretty straight forward and I have no problem with the backup lights or blinkers. Make sure you connect all the connectors on the steering wheel solidly!

My buddy has HPTuners, so it was fairly easy to reprogram for the M6. Basically, you just need a M6 .bin file from the same year car (just to make sure they are the same operating system), then using the flash editor you need to "rewrite entire VCM." You may need to turn off some SES lights (I popped reverse solenoid inop and CAGS codes).

I am still using my steel driveshaft and get no extra noise or vibrations...it sure is more fun to drive!!!

I followed the write up exactly with the wiring and I can't get it to work at all with the blinkers or the reverse lights. Does anyone know where the main hvac wires are at so i can look at them. I don't mean to hijack your thread but i have been fighting these problems for so long that i want it finished. Is there a plug around the steering column that is for the hvac controls. Cause randomly when i tilt my steering wheel all the way up the blower motor kicks on. And where is the blinker canister at. I have looked and looked and can't find the damned thing. i have the knee panel off and the lower plate off and i can't see any silver canister shaped thing anywhere. when i turn on my flashers it clicks over by the fuse box. I thought it was supposed to be near the center console for the flashers. Also are there any connections above the steering column and maybe i should drop the column to check for.

Once again dude i don't mean to hijack your thread but if you went through everything error free then I need your help to resolve my problem since some of this stuff is fresh on your mind.
