Never seen a non proshifted T-56 survive clutchless shifting.
I think the original part intent of the thread was shifting during drag racing. So rev matching does not apply here....
Either you have the hydraulic's,& the clutch then ***** to never lift & depress pedal/ shift. Or you let up on the gas & speed shift ASAP. The never lift the go pedal obviously has more wear & tear on the trans. Have also seen trans's get screwed by 1 missed shift this way.

Either that or go pro shift trans, there's not alot of options out there for us right now.

Powershifting does help on any car, but with our cars, I really don't think it helps all that much over a good speed shift (let off gas) unless you have a huge cam with a narrow power band. That's why it helps so much on 4cylinder cars that have no torque. I've never powershifted or intentionally tried, but I can speed shift pretty fast, as fast as a stock A4 car through any gear. I've also never lost time during a race because of shifting either. On 2-3 I can consistently get a good bark out of the tires and still easily hear it over my true duals. 1-2 usually results in a fishtail, and my car sounding like the clutch is slipping badly.

You can try powershifting. It'll help, but it's a good way to wreck the transmission if you're not on your game. Speed shifting has worked well for me thus far. That's why I'm too chicken to try anything else.
