It was very hot the day that it happened and it was only after a spirited 10 minute cruise down the interstate in 5th gear that it happened. I am betting that it got the fluid boiling. I am going to get under the car and see where the line runs in relation to the exhaust and maybe see if I can put on some heat shielding.
Good luck man!

I think they just zip-tied the line higher in the bay en route. I am not sure but I think that is what i have read. I would recommend trying this if you don't want to go through buying a clutch, flywheel, master, etc. before you finally finding out that all you had to do in the first place was move the line. That can and will **** you off, if you let it. But that is part of doing what we do, trial and error, that is the name of the game.

well i just pulled my tranny to do the clutch today, and i found that my slave cylinder was broken (had a c-clip lookin thing that was completely separated which was causing the cylinder itself to move.
i think that was my problem????
ill know tomorrow for sure when i put it back together and drive it.

Well I don't have to shift it hard neccasarily for my pedal travel to diminish. Yesterday I was on this backroad and decided to take it up to some higher speeds to see how hard it pulls with the headers and exhaust. I didn't powershift, just let out for each gear and then back on the throttle. That run to 145mph in 5th had my pedal setting lower than normal when I went for the clutch as I slowed down. It must be heat related. The rpms at OVER 5K for that amount of time generates an ungodly amount of heat, and that line is pretty darn close to the headers. Yes I have it behind the heat shield but that alone must not be enuff. I am going to Auto Zone in the next hour and I am going to get some stuff and insulate that line. I will report back this evening to post my results.....wish me luck for all our sakes.

I got my car up on a lift yesterday to get the tires balanced. The shop I took it to let me look around under the car. This was the first time I had been under the car since I bought it a few weeks ago. It appears that the slave cylinder is leaking fluid so I am betting that is my problem. The resovoir was low also. I put some fluid in it and I am going to try to bleed it this weekend and see if I can nurse the slave cylinder along until I can wear out the clutch.

hmmm, that quick release must not be connected good or the grommet is cracked or something. You can "pop" that quick release and check that rubber grommet and see if it had dry rotted or something...just trying to help. It may not be your problem and if it were me it damn sure wouldn't be that easy but check it in case it is.

It did not look like the fluid was coming from around the quick release. I think the cylider itself may be leaking inside the housing? I will look at that a little closer when I go to bleed it. That would be too easy I'm sure.

the slave cylinder was my problem exactly. i pulled it off, and saw that it had separated in some spots. now i have a new slave/clutch/gears, and the car runs ****.

Well better late than never huh guys? I wound up buying some 3/8ths fuel/emissions line, splitting it lengthwise and putting it over the line. I have driven it a decent amount since and while it seems better and doesn't happen everytime it still isn't perfect. My next step is to swap the fluid out to DOT4. If that doesn't cure it then it must be the slave or something else. Congrats to the guy that got his issue worked out.

I ordered an LS6 clutch kit, master, and slave today from Dal at Van Devere. Everything should come to about $550. Not bad for basically all new from master to flywheel. I am goind to do the drill mod too while I am in there. Anybody in Atlanta wanna help install it? Lift owners preferred, but not required

I got the same problome with my clutch. I put a new slave cylinder and it was still doing it. I tried to bleed the peadle it got harder and it was coming all the way out
but when i turned the car on the clutch got soft and didnt want to come all the way out but i drove. Then it got harder to go it to gears untill it did go in at all so i chagend the master cylinder ant it still doing the same thing.I dont now why the clutch would get soft after i turn on the car. I need help
