Default 1st gear, does your car bog?

Learning how to launch, if you let up on clutch kinda fast, and try pushing gas pedal to floor quickly, does your car bog bog then go? My car seems like it bogs then goes. What are good launch techniques? (On street, practicing for track)

Its probably because of the drive by wire setup. There is normally a short lag before the car will respond. You will probably have to adjust the timing between dumping the clutch and flooring it or to keep on raising the launch RPM.

Is that the normal launch? So I AM dumb in trying to not rev, and let up clutch kinda fast AND push gas kinda fast right?

There is a fine line between bog and spin. On street tires or DRs I have my best results by letting out the clutch fast and holding the launch rpm (~2000 rpm) and wait until the car starts to move. Once the weight transfers hammer it. Depending on traction you might still bog a little if you dead hook.

Are you still running the 3.73 gear? 3.42 really suck with the 2.66 first gear. A lower rear gear helps a lot.

The above is for the street. And yes, if you are talking about a track launch on slicks....rev-limiter and dump

I get my best launches by revving to about 2500 rpms, and dumping the clutch. The tires bite hard and give a slight chirp, and then its WOT after that. Doesnt seem to bog, just traction. Thats on Eagle F1 Ds3 that are almost to the tread bar.
