3rd gear problem...

I just baught an `01 SS... for some reason the thing occasionally pops out of third when i go to put it in... i think maybe sometimes i dont push in the clutch all the way in enough or something....

just trying to figure out if this is common because its happened a few times... it'll usulally pop out if i dont hold it in as i let off the clutch.....

I have the same problem with four gear.

bent shift fork. That is what is wrong with mine and it is popping out of 3rd as well as not wanting to go into any gear and grinding into 4th.

I am having the same exact problem with 3rd gear, usually at a low RPM daily driving situation. The orignal owner put a B&M Ripper in WITHOUT the stops, don't know if that had anything to do with it or not. Now the stock shifter is back in while I figure out how to fix this mess. Guess it's 2-4 shifting for now...
