Are yopu guys overfilling the clutch master resivior passed the top fill line because if the cap cant vent itself I can see that happening

I have pedal on the floor problem also, but only when I hold the pedal down like at a stop light or something. No problem with it sticking when I'm beating it, only some slippage when hot... So I just avoid keeping it disengaged when stopped.

Anyhow I am having a new clutch and slave installed on Friday... hopefully this will fix it.

hey guys i think i found out what our problem is. my car is doing the same thing. i came here for answers. i work at a gm dealership and i ve been looking through the service bulletin's and i think this is it. the bulletin says if the clutch pedal bushings or the release(throw out) bearing are worn the pedal will stick. im gonna check the bushings this afternoon and report back.

i called thunder racing and i got a pretty stern reply, he said any clutch issues with a 98 and up f-body were from the master cylinder he said nothing about the slave cylinder and nothing about fluid types. he told me flat out, he sounded angry. he must get alot of calls. I would hate to spend all that money for nothing if a new master wont fix this. i hope someone figures it out quick

Default i have had this problem too

but i found the problem it is the clutch return spring. my clutch pedal got stuck once and smelled really bad. i looked it up here on ls1tech and had don lee auto replace the clutch return spring. i costed 40 for the spring and 100 for labor.

i would replace the master first before the slave. it's a whole lot easier..

Replace the flywheel at the same time you do the clutch.

I have been thinkin about this problem a long time.
A little food for thought.
When your pedal is stuck to the floor, and your's is doing what Mine is doing.
Your clutch is engaged, and you can't hit the next gear.
This tells me that the master Did NOT send fluid down to the Slave cylinder to disengage the clutch.
This tells me that the fluid internally bypassed the Cup inside the master and just went up to the Resevoir instead of going where it should go. So the master is bad.
I have a new master sittin on the roof of my car right now
fixin to go out and put it in.
I sure as hell hope this fixes my problem.

It def has to do with heat, because one night when I beat on it a little, it totally went to the floor and didnt come up. I popped it up and was totally mushy. I would push it down, and would practically stick every time. I let it sit for 4 hrs, and it was back to 'normal'

Once I get some money, new clutch going in and hydrolics.

not heat because mine does it when its cold or hot, just under WOT. Any shift above 4500rpm it will stick.

The thing that really pisses me off is that I just had the clutch, flywheel, bearings, and hydrolics replaced about 6000 miles ago.

have you guys tried flushing the fluid out? i, personally, think it's the fluid.

i replaced the master cylinder and the fluid. I should have just changed the fluid first to see if that was it. The reason i think it's the fluid is because everybody who has this problem has some nasty, dark colored fluid.

Something else thst people seem reluctant to give on is the fact that it seems like there maybe more than 1 solid cause ending up with the same effect.... Dark fluid, heat, and an inadequate hydraulic setup seem to all be relevant.

I changed my fluid and mity vac'd it 3 times and it still sticks to the floor after WOT. This is pissing me the **** off because the hydrolics are only 6000 miles old. (they are the 02 hydrolics)

Summit get's the Mcleod' Master's for just over 200 bux.. Worth every penny IMO... Did a 99 T/A w/ a Z06 clutch setup.. had the same issue..everyone screamed drill mod.. I just replaced the stock master w/ a mcleod which i have in my LTx car.. and no problem's since.. I just do w/ a clutch nowaday's w/ LSx's...
