Default New clutch?

Did a burnout last night and the clutch stuck and burned pretty bad. Feels really weird in first gear now like it shutters a little right before its fully disengaged. Time for a new clutch i assume. Currently have a billet lightweight flywheel and clutch with 35,000 miles on it, dont know if its stock clutch, person i bought it from installed it before i got it. Mods are catback, lid, filter, MAF. Daily driver with very occasional track time. any suggestions on what brand of clutch and flywheel, if needed?

With the mods you have the ZO6 should be a good option. There are so many people with clutch problems lately, it's hard to know what works and what doesn't anymore without spending a grand on parts. I think the ZO6 kit comes with a flywheel. If it were me, I would ditch the lightweight aluminum flywheel, it's not really a good item to run on the street.

thanks for the response havatampa. ebay has a good deal on a z06 clutch with no flywheel, would any brand flywheel work with it?

If you aren't looking at any high rpm runs I would go back with a stocker. Spend the money you save and get the updated slave/throwout bearing and a new pilot bushing. Also, check in the For Sale forum, someone is selling a new updated clutch master for a good price. The '98-'00 model cars have sucky hydraulics.

I would buy the complete ZO6 kit with the flywheel. You mind telling me how much you found the kit for on E-Bay without the flywheel? If you are going with a new clutch, do yourself a favor and replace the slave and master with the updated parts.
