Default what to expect from a lightened flywheel

I just ordered a flywheel that was lightened by three pounds. It weighs about 20 pounds. stock is around 24lbs. anything I can expect? should rev up a little quicker. any possible problems?

Should rev quicker. The only problem from lightened flywheels is worse 60' times because of the loss of rotating mass in the clutch assembally. I never realy noticed a loss of launch time with my aluminum flywheel, but it didn't weigh 3 lbs. either.

no, it is lightened by 3 pounds, not weighs three pounds. it should weigh 20 pounds.

... more stalling. It will be a littler harder to launch with. aluminum flywheels are mainly made for road racing where you are at high rpms and shift quick. Not really made for launching becuase as stated, it removes rotational mass, i.e. inertia so your engine will stop spinning faster as you slip the clutch.

You won't even notice barely. But by the physics, it's like what others have said, less inertia = more rpms to counter, it will also cause you to run a bit richer as the motor does not need the same amount of fuel to turn the flywheel. In your case, won't notice a thing. Switch from a stocker to an alum, all these things will become VERY apparent!
