Default Spec 4 and 5 clutches

I need to know how streetable the spec 4 and 5 clutches are, i have an 01 Ws6, with long tubes, true duals, lid and a f15 cam. factory Zo6 held until the cam swap, i also plan on spraying in the future so im thinking a spec 3 is as low as im gonna go. any input on driving with them would be greatly appreciated, thanks for your time.

I had a Spec 4F in my car. It was very streetable. I liked it over the stage 3 I had before that. It never chattered from day one. The engagement is more on/off than stock but you get used to it quick.

I have a Stage 4F for sale. It has 2300 miles on it and I have a brand new disk to go with the PP and billet FW. Let me know if you are interested. I am going th350.

Currently running STG 5 great clutch grabs and holds real well! Had a noise issue for the 1st 0-2000 miles, now gone. It was due to the type of disc material. Might want to look at STG 4 just for that reason, and 1 more I believe the STG 4 has a sprung disc vs STG5 solid disc, just a bit more strain on the drive train. Unless you are after a all out racer. Dont get me wrong here, STG 5 works great as well for street use. Has a bit of a on-off feel to boot but with a good pedal feel and height.

STG4 or 5 would get vote.

Your power out put and plans need to come into consideration as well. Strip or street.

I ran the stage 4 and it did awesome. Very good streetability. Mine was unsprung though. I currently now have a stage 5 and its drivability is just as good. You cant go wrong with either one. I have had great luck with spec.

I just put a stg5 in the car and I must say I had a ram vds and the ram HD before and this stage 5 has to be the most streetable clutch I have driven since doing my 6 speed swap. I would reccomend this clutch in a hearbeat.

the new stg5's are extremly streetable no chatter really they are on/off but you get used to it and it may squek in shifts now and then , holds like a mother f'er though.

we took one out of a turbo car and still looked new with almost 10000 miles on it which include some track runs also
its what ill be getting if and when my stg 3 goes out . but 20,000 miles and still holds mint so im not changing it yet

Hey Chris..

Hope all is well..

I have 14,000 miles on my Stage 5 SPEC Clutch.. Amazing Clutch.. It's the 1st design from SPEC, it's bigger than the current stage 5, also without the noise..

I blew up my Stage 4 in only 2 months.. Felt very nice up until that point..

Chirs.. Glad to hear your No longer "hearing" Squeeking from that Stage 5..

I run a stage 4 in my daily driver. It squeals somtime when its cold, but once its warrmed up it goes away. Ive had some issues with spec's customer service in the past, so ill be going with the aussie clutch after this one lets go.

Good question, as my buddy HUGGERS ORANGE SS say he has 14,000 miles on his and still going strong. I am pushing 2500-3000 and no problems.......yet. Note he had the older version and I am running the newer version. Not that that would matter. Still a great clutch.
