Problem with the Pro 5.0 I have had this shifter installed for about a few weeks and when Im at high rpms I can't get shifted into 2nd to easy, its like im missing second. Im not a newbie driver, i don't know if i just got too used to the stock shifter but i can't drive with the pro 5.0 for crap. Let me know. I may just have to get used to it more. thanks
well mine had a real weak return spring that forces it back to neutral, so sometimes if I was just cruising when I tried to shift across I would hit right in the middle and it would not go into gear if yo uknow what I mean. So I added a small spring on ONE side to make it better. search for a post I made about it.

Your symptoms definetly don't reflect my experience with the Pro 5.0. The one crappy thing with the shifter is you need to secure the freaking shifter bolts with LOCK-TITE. There was no mention in the install directions about that! Can't overemphasize this. Had the shifter almost come off in my hand. Called my dad who has an 03 Cobra with the same shifter..... was too late. His DID come of on the interstate 
Had to drive the car in 4th all the way to a repair shop.
Anyhow, the only thing I can suggest is to check for slop in the shifter bolts. If not, return it as defective. My Pro 5.0 has been bulletproof through much abuse. It's NEVER missed a shift. (Which is more than I can say for the stock Hurst piece of $hit!!

) I helped a friend install his and the stick didn't want to retun to the middle so we added a washer to the opposite side it stuck and it would return. Don't know if that will help you but I threw it out there.

i just got mine about a week ago and when i installed it it bought a short stick to go with it and with the short stick it poped out of second every time. i ended up cuting the #6 boot and it does fine but i dont like my short stick its too far to the right and almost hits the console going into reverse so im using the pro 5.0 stick
