Default M6 guys I need a little help....

My problem started today.
The car drives fine on the street and 60's like a bitch 1.57 but when I go to shift @ high RPMs no dice!
I think it may be the slave going bad or the T/O bearing hanging up.

I need some input.

I know it's definitely not a slipping clutch, because the car pulls both front tires 6" off the ground.

Thanks!

Try adjusting the slave cylinder rod. I had a similiar problem but once I got under the dash to adjust the foot pedal everything was fine.

Probably just need to adjust the pedal, sounds like you are not disengaging the clutch enough. Extend the master rod just a bit.

Thanks for the replies guys. I just got off the phone with Dave @ Cartek and he agreed that the rod needed to be extended. It feels better when I shift @ 6800 now on the street, the true test will be @ the track. I'll make sure I have a 7/16 wrench and a pair of vice grips next time

Tony have you changed the clutch fluid since you've had your Cartek clutch?

And where do you have the pedal engaging?

I have mine set to begin engaging 1/2 way through the travel and full engagement is 3/4 travel.

I don't know how much heat the fluid that Cartek uses can take but it seems like the fluid is boiling. On the street I can shift @ 6800 but @ the track it acts up especially with a big burnout.

What do you think?????

Richie whats up? The Centerforce DF is in the car. Without Al's help I would still be under the car now.. Cartek uses Dot5 fluid.. Suppose to not get hot.. My clutch disk was fine, but my pressure plate and flywheel were shot. My TO bearing was shot as well. I am glad I have that changed..

Cool! How does it feel?
Remember to do the break in. 500 miles with alot of stop and go type driving or 500 engagements/disengagements.

Are you still coming for the spring change?

Richie,
I'm hardly an expert, but I'll offer my .02 . It surely sounds like a disengagement problem. I would agree with the idea of raising the pedal. Just be carefull not to raise it to high. This is how I toasted mine. As far as the fluid, it is DOT5. When I did my lastest clutch I flushed the system with fresh and the bleed it well after doing the drillout. The bad part is the damn fluid is 11.00 a pint. It does't take much though.

Good Luck
Mark

Well it looks like the tranny is fucked. I bled the fluid and replaced it with Super Blue DOT 4 racing fluid. There was a decent amount of air still trapped in the system. The clutch is still holding like a mother though, even at our ghetto *** track here in Orlando I still cut another 1.57 60'

It might be a bent shift fork. I have someone local that can fix it.

I have the Pro 5.0 but I have the stops turned all the way out. The T56 has it's own internal stops. It's definitely something in the tranny. That's theprice I have to pay for having a manly transmission.
