Default T56 in c5, new from GM, WOT fluid out vent

did the morons over fill it? I put it on jackstands and it is coming out of the vent tube for sure. Any other possible cause of this? It has covered the entire rear of my car and made quite a smoke show first time i went WOT. The trans is somewhat difficult to downshift, can overfilling cause this too?

Overfilling will cause poor shifter. With the car level, remove the fill plug to relieve the excess fluid, if any.

GM comes through in the clutch yet again. I confirmed my suspicions, the trans was WAY overfilled. Here is what the catch can caught, what you dont see is the 1+ qts that leaked out before my shock turned into action and I put the can under there:

how does something like this happen? Better yet, how does it happen time and time again??
