Default Light rust on new flywheel...Problem?

Yes, I am being a nervous pee pee boy about this whole clutch thing. That being said. I have a little surface rust with some minor pitting on my new flywheel. Stupid me left it in the box without protecting it for the 6 months I was in Kosovo. In your opinion/experience, will this be a problem? TIA

Would resurfacing be a good idea?

Anybody?

If it's just light surface rust I'd remove it with sandpaper...if you have pitting I would pay $50 and have it resurfaced for insurance...$50 is cheap compared to the install labor.

That's what I was thinking. Just wanted to get a second or third opinion. Thanks.

If you are going to sand it, make sure to use a block! You want that surface as flat as possible for the disc to properly seat.

Just use some fine steel wool and be sure to use brake cleaner to get rid of any grease.
