Default tranny problems

i bought my 99 z28 about 5 monthes ago and ever since ive gotten it ive noticed shifting problems. once and a while especially if i rip a gear it will grind 2nd, 3rd, and 4th. then at higher speeds in 5th gear while accelerating, the entire car will shake and my center console sounds like its about to fall out. some people have told me a short shifter will help the shifting problem but im still worried about 5th......anyone have any adivice?

Sounds like your vibration is speed related which would indicate a driveshaft or rear end problem. The grinding sounds like a clutch or syncro problem. With 107k on it the tranny is probly worn.
