Default Spec Stage 4 Toasted After 2000 Miles

I upgraded from a stage 3 to a stage 4 when i put in my 200 pills. My car made good power but it didnt last long. I did a 500 mile break in, and waited until 1000 mile to spray on it. anybody else having problems with these clutches?? i am going turbo, and was planning a stage 5 but if a stage 4 cant handle a 200 shot what kind of clutch should i run?

Thats about how my stock clutch looked after about 80k miles of abuse. But i think most people are going Mcleod twin disc, or textralia for high HP. I just ordered a textralia because its supposed to handle high hp, and be smooth like a stock clutch.

I blew up a stage 4. That was expensive. From the looks of things, looks like you were slipping it too much.

I smoked my stage 4 and went to a street twin. My street twin didnt come properly shimmed however, so make sure you follow their directions regarding checking the clearance if you get one.

A SPEC 4 is only an unsprung stage 3.If you make power you want a Stage 5.Out of the last 10 5's we installed, none of them have failed. That is from 400hp street cars to 700rwhp street/strip cars.

Absolutely The clutch drives awesome on the street and we have a 700hp car that has 45 passes and 16k miles on it so far.The other cars might have 10-12k miles. The newer model 5 drives alot better than when they first came out. They do squeel for about 1k miles but then clear up.Taking off from a light is very easy without chatter -probly better than any stage 3 I've driven.
