Car stuck in reverse, now fixed. Carnage report
Hey,
Today I was leaving a parking lot and I put it in reverse and it got STUCK IN GEAR! I popped it out but the car is still in reverse!
Has this happened to anyone?
Car is in parking lot waiting for a tow truck.
SO DEPRESSED.

FIXED.
Car was fixed and here is the carnage report. Broken REVERSE gear (all of reverse gear was grinded down), and reverse synchro broken and tranny interlock was broken?
How can something like this happen?

That happened to me with 5th gear. 6th gear was actually fused to the main shaft...it was a real PITA.

Car is 2nd run 03 so it came with steel shift works. We found that out.
Car is all fixed now and already running.
I just wanted to know WTF happened!

Well, from what you have said above, it appears you got reverse at a time when it should not have been got. To break an interlock is rare but can be done with some very severe clashing . I suspect that you ( or some one else) has clash -shifted reverse extensively ans repeatedly. This resulted in stuck in gear incident - the damage caught up with the box.I believe the teeth removed from reverse were the clutch teeth, not the actual driving teeth.
