I ordered the exact same thing last night from Fred Beans except minus the master. Already upgraded it a few years ago. Fred's prices are much cheaper than those "other" guys.

Yeah, but did you check the shipping charges at GM Parts Direct? Be sitting down when you do.

Just got a message from Fred's, part #24233650 for the LS7 clutch has been changed to #24236500 and it's $13 cheaper. But, they are out of stock and should be in soon.

Sounds like you'll be having some fun soon. Why won't the LS1 or LS7 flywheel work with the LS7 clutch?

This is the email I received from Jeremy @ Fred's. I emailed him back asking what the difference is and to make sure they are the same parts:

Randall, Thanks for the order sir. Part#24233650 changes to Part#24236500 and is $287.09. I have some clutches coming in and will ship your order once they are recieved. With the holiday coming it may delay your shipment a few days. I'll go ahead and process you order. Thanks. Jeremy

So it's just a newer part number for the same part basically, maybe an engineering change? Either way sounds like if you just enter "ls7clutchkit" in the part number field at fred beans site you'll get the right thing regardless. Cool.

Well, I just sprang for the LS7 clutch and LS2 flywheel from Beans. Hopefully I'll get it soon 'cause I just burned my Z06 clutch up racing last night. On top of everything, my beater sprang a gas leak directly in the tank so I'm carless.

What would be great is if someone knowledgeable could do an installation pictorial for the LS7 clutch. I've read there are some differences in bolts and what not??? This will be the first clutch install I'm doing myself. I'll make sure to get the camera and my Helm's manual out there and if all goes well, I'll post an installation guide.

Any tips for a noob? I'd search for the answers, but I'm having some problems using the search function. BTW, because I have an '02, am I correct in assuming I won't have to replace or modify my master cylinder?

Gene the parts manager from Fred's emailed me stating it's the exact same part, just changed the number. Convexion, you'll be ok on your master cyl. This is the first clutch install I've done on a Gen 4 F-body too. If you get yours in soon and can post pics and/or other info, that would be awesome. I will be putting in 4.10's and a fuel pump before this project.
