spec 5 clutches???
spec 5 clutches??? From what I was told spec 5 clutches dont require break in. There labeled as a race only clutch. I was going to buy a spec 3 - but from the threads I read it's a hit and miss. Mostly a bad feedback. Does the spec 5 clutches last very long also? How many miles do some people have on there spec 5?? Also is this a hit/miss clutch also for the spec 5 ? And will it work fine with about 400rwhp type car

I do like the spec V cause it has no chatter, I would much rather have a squeak vs chatter IMO of course. One of my friends though had a spec V presure plate explode on him sending shrapnal through the car and wiring and almost through the driver. So while it is pretty streetable for a heavy duty clutch I could not say it is safe. I have a spec V now but my next clutch will probably be the aussie one or maybe the new centerforce that is SFI approved.
You might want to stay away from spec. after reading the post about the spec III clutch blowing up.........I have an aussie clutch and I'm also having problems but I hope that Pete and Jeff take care of it.

Clutches are so hard to pick cause we need street clutches but the power output of most of our cars is in race car territory,,, having cake and eating it too seems unlikely in this case, kinda sucks really.
