Sup guys, im about to purchase the mecloud twin disc clutch and iwant to know if spending the extra $400 is worth the difference between aluminum and steel? Is aluminum just lighter? or is it stronger too?

Aluminum will be lighter, but not necessarily stronger. It is just to reduce the rotating mass. Hardcore drag racers like the extra inertia of a heavier flywheel to help get them off the line without bogging the engine. An aluminum flywheel will help your engine rev faster, as the engine doesn't have to work as hard to spin it.

What are your plans for the car as far as drag racing, road race, street/strip...

Yeah...the flywheels don't usually dictate power holding levels. How you use it does. If you want to drag it and launch hard, aluminum might not be the best. For the street though, it might be alright as it will let your engine rev faster just driving around (essentially "free" HP...only not so cheap). It will also depend on your vehicle weight and gearing...lots of variables here.
