I was wondering if I can just use a brass punch and hammer or is there an install tool you need to use.
Im affraid I will mess up the face of the bearing. Any help would be great.

Ive already used it twice on clutch installs and I would rather do it now than have problems later.
By the way I got it guys..
Just used a hammer and tapped it in gently, doesnt mar or dent the surface at all. If you tap it in a circular motion you can actualy here where you need to hit cause it doesnt sound solid then once it makes a dense noise move on to another spot.
Hope this helps someone in the future.

Get a piece of wood to place against the bearing, then hit the wood with a hammer.

Be sure to drown the bearing in some white lithium grease, you need all the aid you can get.

The tapered inside of the bearing goes out away from the crank shaft.
If you use a socket just under the outside diamater of the bearing and a 6 inch extension, you can just tap in with a hammer.

Yes and smother the inside of the bearing with more grease, as the grease it comes with is not enough.

Hope this helps
Dave

Me bad I meant crank shaft

Out meaning when you guide the input shaft of the trans into it it will guide it self with the taper. And just put the bearing flush with the lip of the crank also.
