Doubt if that sort of treatment will worry it, mate. They thrive on a good beating, and are better after you do it. At least mine was

Did you break in properly or just start thrashing on it? All the cluthces I read about have to be broken in properly and when they're not they all have trouble from what I've read. The tex said about 400 miles I think where the spec says 700 miles, again I think. Sorry your having trouble with yours, mines been great.

in theory if a clutch is broken in than it should work as advertised. however i broke in my spec 3 for 550miles only to have it weld itself to the flywheel 8 months later.
i broke in my Text for 600 miles before doin anykind of hard driving and thus far i have 4 times the amount of runs i had on my spec and have no issues.

a clutch is alot like a vehicle...sometimes you get unlucky and get a lemon...other times its perfect...nothing you can do about it.

I have the Cartek clutch and love it, I leave the line at 6600 RPM sidestepping the cutch no slip or burnt clutch smell just grabs like a **** . Very streetable considering all the abuse it can take I slip it just like a stock clutch, The best clutch IMO. Give Dave a call at (908) 317-4496

Your right there, but in all honesty I've read about more trouble with the Specs than any other brand. Most of the time I believe its due to not following break-in procedures but then you get people who follow it word for word and still have problems, thats why I went Textralia but there are those who swear by Specs. I waited for 400 miles before putting mine through a work out and its been perfect so far. Pro'lly has 7k on it by now.

Yes, I broke it in properly, I drove it easy (real easy) for about 400 miles then a little harder (take offs at about 2500 rpm) for another 200 or so. Then I let loose a few times but never breaking the tires loose.

I would say that the Cartek clutch seems to be a good unit, just pray that you don't have to deal with their customer service. It's all smoke and mirrors.

straight up junk!!!!!! 1500 miles of break in, vaction, 3 track passes and the clutch was toast. Litterally pulled the material off the clutch plate.
