Reduce The Noise

The guy before me had cut the rubber shift boot, the one under the leather one that is around the top of the shifter, there is a lot of transmission noise coming up from there. Any idea's on how to make it quite? I was thinking of putting something on the underside of the leather shift boot. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks

Are you running an aftermarket shifter like Pro 5.0? If you have the stock shifter and the rubber boot cut, then get a new unmodified boot.

the guy before me had a pro 5.0 and he cut the boot. Now i have the stock hurst in there and its pretty noisy. where can i buy another rubber boot?

I got several responses by posting on the "parts needed" forum. You can also look for people parting out a 6-speed car. Make sure you ask for a picture of the part before you buy. Alternatively, you can go to a dealer and pick a new one up for $55 or so.
