McLeod bellhousing problems

Default McLeod bellhousing problems

Anyone have trouble mounting a McLeod bellhousing to a LS1??

Supposedly there is some grinding (anglegrinder) involved in the installation but I can't tell you from a personal standpoint.

My buddy installed his a couple of months ago and is running 12.00 @ 120 with no traction but no problems. Mine is in, no problems, just waiting for my friend to finish my tranny rebuild. The oil pan casting ridges must be ground down for the front plate of the bell housing to fit. Also I went with 3/8 x 1 1/2" bolts since my tranny has been in and out so many times and the threads are getting fkd up. I used hex head bolts for the top three bolts and Allen heads for the rest. My friend put in a SPEC 4 and I'm going with the SPEC 5.
