I had the old type master, you should do a new one just for good measure, It never hurts.
also I wanted to change it because mine was from another car that I got when I swaped the tranny, it was a A4 and now its a M6 and I did not know how many miles the old one had

I installed it this weekend and had to call Joe a couple of times, he was helpful and gave me some good advice.
Anyhow, I like the clutch feel over the Spec 3, it feels so soft now, and it appears to grab ok, I will be done with the break in in 2 weeks and will go WOT then, let see how good this thing is. also It took me 2 pilot bearings because apparently they shrink once you pound it in. but the shaft would go in with a little force.....I know I dont suppose to force it but it would have not gotten in otherwise.
lets see how this clutch performs
P.S how long would a clutch last if you drive it daily in stop and go traffic and go to the track once a year?.......guesstimate/////
thanks

I would expect your clutch to last at least 50K. If you take it easy on the thing I think 60-70K is pretty realistic. I've got 52K on my stock clutch and it's still holding my power fine.

My 99 clutch was done in under 10,000 miles with no heads or headers or cam..
buddies 2001 ls6 clutch is already starting to be a problem on his car but he has think 50,000 miles but he has only owned the car for maybe 10,000 of those.
Most of my f body fourth gen buds have long since went to different clutches.Especially for the crappy pre 2001 clutches..they are junk..I am keeping my burnt up one as souvenir so far..its completely baked!!
