No notchy feeling is present and dead engine shifting feels right. However, fourth seems to have different stick travel from neutral to 4th lock in than neutral to third. My minds eye is seeing the outside of the syncro assembly more toward fourth than third when I put this back together. In fact, I questioned my parts source about the need to go with a steel 3-4 shift fork when I ordered my other parts and received a probably don't need to response. Also, after questioning the previous owner, they admitted the same problem. Possibly from hard shifts at the end of the quarter going from second to third may have tweeked the fork.

Anytime you tear a T56 apart and it does not have a steel 3/4 fork, invest in one. The cost is so minimal that it would be a waste of time and money not to. Did you invest in any other upgraded parts? Billet Keys, Fork Pads? That would be some other things to invest in if you have to tear it down again.

Thanks for your response - you are absolutely right as hindsight speaks regarding the, should have done, steel 3-4 shift fork replacement. I did go in with a full carbon fiber syncro set with brass on the reverse, billet keys and fork pads from my parts supplier. Thanks again.
