Which flywheel to go with?

Default Which flywheel to go with?

So I've got a lonely Spec Stage 4 clutch. I can't figure out which flywheel to go with. I need something CHEAP. Definitely has to be a steel flywheel.

What suggestions do you have that would be cheap, easy to find/buy, and easy to bolt up? I'll also need to get the proper shim to go with the setup...

BTW I'm not real concerned with performance for the flywheel. I just need something inexpensive but that won't blow up or kill my car.

Id say go with the aluminum flywheel. Yea its expensive, but when it comes time to do another clutch, you dont have to send it off the get resurfaced, just order a new surface for it. Plus their SFI approved for safety reasons.

As long as the flywheel is new, you wont need a shim.

Like I mentioned before, it HAS to be a steel clutch. I just can go for aluminum, unless it's maybe less than $200 which I doubt is possible.

Get a new stock flywheel. If you are going with a steel for the rotational weight for launching....... then the stocker is the heaviest one you can get. The billet one from spec I think is next in line for weight... it's what I used with my spec 4I, and was happy with the results.

SPEC has a billet flywheel that is excellent quality, I think it was $200+.

I Am In The Same Boat I Have A Spec Stage 3 And I Need A Cheaper Flywheel. Can A Stock One Hold The Power?

the stock flywheel is fine, ther's no reason that it can't be used, or reused of it is resurfaced. I think they are a good bit cheaper then the spec, and I know they are heavier.

False. There IS good reason why they cannot be reused, and that is that typically, LS1 flywheels are not meant to be resurfaced for fear of being too thin.
