rough day at the track, shifting is stiffer, why?

rough day at the track, shifting is stiffer, why? went to the track last thurs, sprayed, banged against the redline trying to find traction (stock tune).
went 3 runs, last one was easy on car, below wot throught first and most of second to avoid nitrous shot....
swear that putting in first gear and shifting into second is notichier and stiffer, why??
t56 is the strongest piece in the powertrain, what's up??
sounds like new fluid would help, is pennzoil synchromesh and gm same?? foud on internet that all made by pennzoil....
