Default Help!! In Deep On Clutch Install!!

OK, This is the exact situation I DON'T WANT!!
What way does the pilot bearing go?
What was in it was more of a bushing

What I got was more of a needle bearing

It has a smaller ID because of it.

Is this the right part?

If so, what side goes toward the engine? 'Open'

or Closed?'

http://www.installuniversity.com/ins...sity/index.htm There are some pictures on that site. Where did you get the new pilot bearing? When I changed mine I think I got the new one either at napa or oreilly and it worked perfect.

There isn't a word on the pilot bearing on Install University, I have their stuff printed out, it's what I've been using today.
It's a Timken from AutoZone. The PN cross referenced with the NAPA listing for it, so I thought it would be good. If it's a bearing I'd rather use a Timken, which is why I bought the one I have.

You can look at the pictures and tell which way it goes towards the crank. The "open" end should go towards the crank.

Cool, going out to slap it in there now.
Do you Loc-Tite the flywheel bolts?

I am pretty sure I put loctite on them. Just a tiny dab of the medium strength stuff

EDIT: Just make sure you don't get any on the flywheel surface

open end of bearing towards the crank.

I put a dab of loc-tite on my arp flywheel bolts, my Spec3 instructions that came with the clutch said to put anti-sieze on there but i was skurred.

imo i would go out and get a bushing instead of the bearing. i use one with my ram 910 and it seems like a better idea than the bearing. just my .02 though

http://www.ls2.com/boggs/torques/clutch.htm

It says here that the flat side should go to the crank.

if you look at my pictures, you wil see the 'beveled' side is the 'closed' side. This is what has been stated as correct already. The problem is everyone uses write-ups (and poorly wirtten ones most of the time) and not enough pictures or thorough descriptions.
