Default What is needed to rebuild a locked up T5

Hello everyone, My T5 transmission locked up in my 1998 camaro about a week ago due to no transmission fluid. Would it be cheaper to buy a used one (about $450 after shipping) or take it to a transmission shop and have it rebuilt. Any info would be greatly appriciated.

It would be cheaper to buy a used one but just make sure there is nothing wrong with it. Parts to rebuild one will be more than that.

Thanks,
Joe

thanks Joe, I found one locally for $300 with 67k miles on it and they only want $100 to install it. I thaught i was going to be out around $650, but $400 is better
