Default Which Clutch???

I was wondering what clutch do you guys think i should get for my 99 SS..Its a bolt on car right now, but i am going to be putting a cam in it shortly.. My spec stage 3 is going bad right now, and i havent had much luck with spec clutches, but im narrowing it down to either the Spec 3+, the LS7, or a centerforce. What does everyone think i should get and why? thanks

I voted for the centerforce......but make sure you are specific on which centerforce. A lot of people had problems with centerforce a few years ago. But they have come a long way in the design of their clutches since then. They now offer a 12" clutch disk design instead of the old 11". One thing you would also have to do is update your hydraulics. I was in your same situation about half a year ago and somehow ran into Will Baty.....he speaks on behaf of centerforce and can answer any questions you have. On top of that the customer service is unbelievable!!! On a certain post on here a while back there were a lot of people complaining about the centerforce reliability. Will Baty came in and asked everyone who complained to send in there clutches so they could look at them and decide what the problem was. Will sent brand new clutches free of charge to nearly everyone who had a problem......even when the early failure of the clutches was the installer/operators fault. I would do a search on Will Baty and send him a pm about your questions. Hope this helps!

see what do you mean dont slip it bad? this is my first manual trans car. I just let the clutch out a little and give it gas at the same time, and as soon as i feel it move i let the clutch out slow while giving it gas..thats it.

Don't slip it bad meaning dont ride the clutch at a light or on a hill, etc. These clutches are meant to be engaged or disengaged, with minimal 'in-between'
