Default clutch bleeding issues

My friend just bought a 99 formula ws6 and he is having some trouble with the clutch. The pedal will go down about 4 or 5 inches before there is any pressure on it and the car has problems getting it in and out of gears but the clutch holds fine once it is in gear. The fluid looked like 10000 mile old motor oil so we flushed it all out and bled the system and everything was fine for like 10 minutes then it started up again. He purchased a mity vac and we have done this several different times and the air just keeps coming back. I was thinking that it may be the slave but I wanted to get some other opinions before I sent him out to get a part he may not need. Thanks in advance.

Try having your friend get under the car and you sit in the driver seat. Make sure the reservoir is full and crack the bleeder valve open, push the pedal to the floor and hold it, close bleeder valve, bring pedal back to the top, repeat. I used this method this past wed nite after installing the Textralia and new slave, it took about 10 mins or so and the feel is GREAT! Good luck!

Pump the clutch and then bleed with the mity vac a few times. Make sure you follow the instructions carefully so as to not let air back in. If the problem persists you're going to have to tear into it to find the problem.

I have tried both of these methods and it kept getting air in. Maybe worth another shot though. Thanks guys.

that could be a problem. I still have my 99 slave, and it is acting up on me!

I'm not sure if they are the stock hydraulics or not because he just got the car and they didn't say anything about it. I would assume they are but I don't know for sure. Is there any way to tell whether or not they are?
