new clutch I got my car back from getting the new clutch put in. I took a look at the old clutch and pressure plate, and the pressure plate was absolutely toast! I mean it was all purple and blue from the heat. I don't even run my car hard, it is really hard to believe that it was that bad (the worst i've ever seen). The new clutch is extremely heavy, but i figured that my go away (it's just a ram). any recommendations on the break in on the new clutch? I go through downtown every day, so i really don't want to heat it up that much on break in...anyone eles have the same opinion?
400-500 miles city driving, no hard launches, no full throttle runs. The discoloration you saw on the pressure plate could be the result of waiting a bit too long to swap out a bad worn friction disc.

well, the only reason i had all this done was because of the slave cylinder. It's really hard to believe that the stock clutch only lasted 47K miles. Oh well, it needed to be done apparently. i'm a light driver, so the break in shouldn't be too hard on me. Thanks!
