Is it just f body guys that have so many problems with clutches or is it everyone? After reading the 10+ pages I think I am going to go with the LS7 setup. Any draw backs or problems people have had? So far I haven't seen anyone complain about them. If they can make a new Zo6 run 11's, it should be good enough my 13 second car.

spec 3 + will take more abuse than the oem clutches will and you dont have to buy an ls2 flywheel. I ran this clutch and it never once slipped or made any funny smells. i hear the ls7 isnt that strong when approaching higher torque levels such as nitrous applications , so i went spec 3 plus. hell of a clutch.

oh and i will say this on clutch problems with f bodies.. that it is an unproperly bled clutch line and it is not insullated from the heat of headers.. many people ignore this fact that the clutch line is so close to headers and causes the fluid to boil and cause air pockets to form, thus your clutch not engaging fast enough when racing causeing the clutch to be slipped burning it up.

I have the Centerforce dual-friction. Never had a problem with it. Three years and 16000 miles and still holding strong. 417rwhp / 411rwtq.

Ls7/aluminum flywheel....

Like stock pedal but holds H/C 4.10's.

It needs no additional throttle to get it in gear and rolling in my C6. The aluminum flywheel is a great addition and has none of the mythical super rev requirements that seem to persist on the net (F-bodys weigh more though). I can actually get it going without using the gas pedal. Zero chatter and holds-- unlike the stock LS2 which is essentially the same as the LS6 for those of you that used it. My LS2 was dead to the floor 50HP ago and had that asbestos smell after all shifts. This LS7 has none of those issues.

LS7 clutch w/ LS2 flywheel here. It's a good clutch, but acts a little differently from stock. The thing I've noticed is it doesn't like the pedal to be let out slowly. You have to release fairly quick and even. If I'm slow about it the clutch slips. You get used to it pretty quick though and all in all it's a hell of a lot better than the stock clutch.

How much will the LS7 hold??? Has anyone beat on it at track yet? Thats what I want to see. We all know we give the cars hell at the track and thats the proving grounds.

Can you guys tell me what clutch would be good for me. I'm on a budget so i cant afford anything in the TEX price range.
Right now my car has boltons and i'm waiting for a tune so i can spray a 100 shot. Hopefully by the end of the year it should also have a cam. So i should have about 500hp.
Whats good for me?

Thanks

Still haveing read this whole thread...

With my 380ish wheel hp. I'm having a hard time deciding between the LS7 and the Textralia.

After two runs down the 1/4 last night, I believe my stock clutch is on the out. Wouldn't let me into 4th on 1st run, and 2nd run...slipped horribly off the line and pretty much ground into every gear(still only netting a pathetic 13.1 @105mph..unfortunately my personal best as of yet due to this mysterious shifting bug.) Only does it when hot.

But with the 8-15k mile quoted life of the textralia...would I be better off going with the LS7 and saving some cash? That way I could more easily afford a sixspeedsinc rebuild on my trans while it's out. I just don't want to have to replace it with something better if I decide to do another head/cam swap a year or two down the road. Apologize if I'm hacking this thread but... Want to fix this f'ing thing and need some help. Thanks.
