Default Shifting problems

This is another revival of a problem I've had for a while, but no answers ever come up.

Sometimes, most often on the 1-2 shift, the shifter "rubs" and "chirps" when I put it into gear (clutch all the way to the floor). It's done this on 3-4 shifts as well. Its not grinding gears- there's no metal grinding, just a rubbing sound.

In addition to that, it can be hard to put the shifter all the way into a gear. Sometimes it will only get halfway into second, and pop out once I let out some clutch. It will get heavy when shifting around the gears, like it doesn't want to go into gears.

Any ideas? Think they're related?

Change the fluid. If it keeps doing it, time for a rebuild.

I have the same problems.. I got a new shifter and it got easier to shift but I also have that squeek. I think it is the bushing wearing out, so I'm going to order one soon. Also after doing one quick 1/4 run through the gears I couldn't put it in reverse for a long while, everything is all clunky and hard until the next morning it is smooth as always. Going to check it out soon...

What clutch do you have? We think the clutch is overheating or something or it isn't set right... I also don't know how many miles are on it, original owner has yet to send me service records.
