I've dropped the tranny a few times. First time, left the y pipe on and it was a pain in the ***. Next time, dropped the y pipe first and that made things alot easier. No need to pull the motor though.

Remove Y pipe, remove trans brace, drive shaft, torque arm, disconnect wiring harness/connections, remove center console and shifter stick, remove tranny to bellhousing bolts, drop tranny. Drain the fluid first or it will pour out of the tailhousing and make a mess.
