A lot of the problem was old c/pp being sold as the newer versions from independant shops. Some people are just not ever going to buy a spec because of all the bad post there has been in the past. If you search enough you will find out that there is something bad said about every clutch out there.....even the new textralia

Spec 3 clutch-no luck I have a basically stock 2000 Ram Air Formula and had put a stage 3 Spec clutch in with the upgraded slave and master cylinder and had no problems until now. It just started slipping on me just a few days ago and I just put it in last August. Before I put it in, I research about and heard nothing bad about them and even called them and talked to them about this. They told me that the way my car was set up that my car could not tear this clutch up. Well, now the clutch is slipping and I'm going to just get stuck with this because I think they only have a 120 day warranty. I think that spending this much money on the upgraded slave/master cylinder w/the clutch that it should last more than 8 months. Can anyone help me out here on what to do?

People the SPEC STAGE 3 and SPEC STAGE 3+ are not the SAME. The 3+ is a MUCH better full disc design and better friction material and people have been having very good results with them including myself. No crappy *** pucks like the regular stage 3.... Personally Id spend the extra 150 bucks for the 3+ upgrade EVERY single time....
now that I have it broken in, it is worth every cent. I reccomend this to anyone getting ready to get a clutch. now I need some stickey tires, as mine don't hook very well. haha

I have the 3 + and it is just really starting to drive good after 700 miles. Untill it was fully broken in , it did not disengage all the way on fast shifts causing it to miss shifts. Now it is doing better but I need to get a mighty vac to finish all the air out of my clutch. No hard launches yet like I did on the spec3 but it is coming soon. Drives better then the 3 though and works great on the street with the nittos.

I got my 3+ in last friday so ive had it in for 3 days and got 250 miles on already. I am very impressed how streetable and soft pedal feel this is, for a clutch thats rated to handle 850ft/lb of tq it feels very similar to the ls6 clutch only slightly firmer pedal.
FYI on clutch ratings from SPEC's website
Stage 3 - 580ft/lb
Stage 3+ - 850ft/lb
Stage 4 - 700ft/lb
Stage 5 - 1200ft/lb
Does anyone know the PP clamp rates on any of the clutches or how much their flywheels weigh? I cant find that information anywhere, I have the aluminum flywheel with my 3+ and i love it but am curious what it weighs.

FWW I blew my spec 3+ to **** after 3k miles....Good luck man. They are great clutches but it's hit or miss. With as light as your Z is, I'd throw in an ls7 clutch. Is holding great in my car(450+rwhp fbody) with close to 1500 miles on it.
