Default **UPDATE** LS7 CLutch

Well guys i finally hit 500 miles on my clutch. I got a little spirited in 1st 2nd and 3rd..and all i can say is WOW this clutch is awesome..the only thing is i might have to bleed the system, cause it seems a little bit too light, but its not bad but other then that i love it...we will see how it holds up after i put my cam in soon, then i will give another little update

sweet...do you have a link to a place that shows step by step what all has to be done to convert to the LS7 clutch? Installuniversity just shows the LS1 clutch i believe. How long did it take you? Is it worth it on a bonestock car that is only gonna be boltons and daily driven in your opinion?

Sounds good, thanks for the update. My new LS7 clutch setup shows zero wear after 3 months.........because it's still sitting in the house.

The pedal does grab much sooner than the stocker. And yes simple ls2/ls7 flywheel with the ls7 clutch. Well worth it, i have it on my CETA and it only has basic bolt ons.

Yea it bolts right on. We just did one on my buddy's SS. All you need is the LS2 flywheel and it's a direct bolt on. Took a whole day to do cuz we were on our backs in his driveway but it was worth it. He hasn't hit the 500 miles yet but i've driven it and you can tell that there is a big difference between the LS6 and the LS7 clutches. The LS7 is a definate for me when mine blows.

How do you think this LS7 clutch would hold up to 450 rwhp/tq?

you dont need the ls2 flywheel for the ls7 clutch, I installed mine 2 months ago and have about 1000 miles on it, bought it all from fred beans. bolts right up in place of stock one works very well

its a perfect clutch i think for a DD h/c car that sees the track a couple times a year. I mean it has to hold reliably 450rwhp since its on the z06, gm doesnt want to be replacing clutches every 5k.

and you figure GM has MILLIONS of dollars and thousands of hours in reasearch and design that went into the Z06 i think they could engineer a very high performance clutch with a very long lifespan, compared to some of these other "smaller" manufacturers like spec, centerforce, textralia etc.

Any experience at the track with the LS7 clutch. I am thinking this may be the way to go for a DD that sees the track a few times a year. I just want something that can take a little abuse 5K clutch drops on ET streets. The other clutch I am looking at is the Mccloud, but it's 500 more. I don't know??

I'm curious also. I've read from several respected board members that it is required. Wondering if maybe he doesn't know what went in his car.
