Pic of the driveshaft. The inputshaft is still in the driveshaft.

Last this is the piece the track guy gave to me as they where pushing the car off the track. I knew it was bad when he handed me this.

I dumped at about 5000 rpm. With the 3.73s and 26*11.5*16 et streets i do not have a traction problem. I still think that it has something to do with the geometry of the car. Something is off.
I think we better keep an eye on our holes to make sure this don't happen to any of us.
I'll bet you just snapped the rear input shaft and the high rpm/vibration/shock took care of the cast aluminum casing. I've never seen the rear input shaft break before, its usually the clutch side that lets go.

I do agree with you on the Theory of the Geometry of the rear suspension not being quite right somewhere. Hope your up and running soon.
I guess I missed some of the posts about the twin being such a destroyer. I just got one installed last weekend. I have about 300 miles on it and it drives awesome (absolutely no chatter and it glides into gear), but I am being very easy on it for the first 500 miles.
My SII heads/cam goes in soon and the clutch will be broken in for it. I will have to be easy launching for a while (and the 1-2 shift) since I had to put the 12 bolt on hold until next spring.
Hope you get your setup figured out so it will live longer.

Its a custom 3" steel DS. Very heavy, its all banged up and scratched cause it moved all around after the impact.
The twin is a destroyer if you dont know how to use it correctly. You have to slip it out or make sure you spin the tires. That clutch isnt going to give. Weak driveline parts will.
