SPEC 3+ problems

Here's how mine got broke in- Rolled it off the trailer, went to the staging lanes did a little longer burnout than usual and dumped the clutch at 5800 and power shifted each gear at 7000. I pulled a 1.58 60ft. with the stock suspension with a set of slicks. My clutch is just fine 2 years later but it's not really driven on the street much, see's more track time than anything and it's a 3I

what about taking the shim out, wouldn't that make the release sooner on the clutch meaning sooner engagement. I just wonder if. ya never know. It just seems so hit or miss with SPEC, and if you have problems then forget about it.

You need the shim. with out it you will not fully disengage and you will miss gears when your powershifting

I have a McCloud adj master with mine....same one I had with my Ram setup.

ok then. I am just looking for other options here other than the clutch is actually going out after 830 miles

Whats the difference between the 3I and 3+ ??

The 3I is the older model they used to have ,the 3+ is the newer better version I think. They seem to keep comming out with improved versions. Mine has seen pretty much just track abuse and a couple of local drives when I borrowed my buddy's dealer plate

looks like we are going to try taking the shim out and see if that works out. If not we will be trying a adjustable master.

that clutch is shimmed to far out its not clamping all the way when the pedal is out.. what needs to happen is either a adj master cyl or take some of the shims out. i bet if you ask the shop how many shims they used it will be more than what came with it... its a b//t//ch for sure....
