Default cupholder question

not sure how the camaro interior is set up, but does anyone find it pointless to have that one cupholder in the center console of firebirds? i put stuff in there sometimes, but never an actual cup because it would get in my arms way of shifting. just a pointless question i guess i'm pretty bored..

I use it a lot, but after doing the M6 swap it does seem to get in the way while shifting.

It pointless to place a cup there. If you brake or accelerate too quickly, the cup will go flying, and even taking turns you have to be careful.

I just put my phone in there and loose change.

The only things I ever put in there are my phone and wallet. Tried with a Wendy's large soda, and was almost impossible to shift. Moving it to the rear "cupholders" was even worse, since a turn sent the ******* thing flying.

Exactly! You've got to use the passenger side holder. That's the only one I've found somewhat usefull.

I agree, the center and rear ones are useless. I use the cheap foldout one one the right side of the console. The passenger has to use the one in the passenger door.

Tuck it between your right hip and the center console. It's secure as hell but at the same time isn't squishing it.

I agree it is useless unless you are on the highway and not shifting for a while. I just pull out the passenger holder, it seems a little deeper as well.

I just dont drink in the car unless it is a long trip. People didn't use to drink in their cars in the 70's. Most cars didn't even have consoles until recently. Really is a waste.

i noticed that their are 4 cupholders in this damn car, i mean honestly, do you think you will b driving around with 4 people all drinking something at the same time.

my buddies grand prix doesnt even have as many cupholders and thats more of a family car.

i always tell him i have 2 more cylinders, 2 more gears, more cupholders and more speakers stock, but he tells me he has one more eaton blower than i have.

Same exact thing I use mine for. I usually use the passenger side one, because its the only one that somewhat holds your drink.

actually... the firebirds have 5. There is an additional cup holder in the passenger side door. Not the bit of a bulge towards the front of the door.

I never put cups in the center driver's cupholder... i ALWAYS used the swing-out passenger-side one.

I have an A4, and yes it gets in the way of my right arm confort zone, but I still use it when im driving with my wife, and when she gets out I transfer my drink to the passenger side holder. Man a Horchata sounds good right now!!

I always put my drink in the fold out secret cup holder, or in the rear. The rear works GREAT when you have the seat folded down and the cup can wedge in there. I've NEVER had one fall out, it's the most awesome spot with the seats folded down.

When the seats are up they suck though.

The middle one is a joke. I use it if the car is off in a parking lot and I'm just sitting there drinking a soda, but that's about it.
