Default Tell me what happened???

Yesterday I found myself lined up against a bike. I decided to have a little fun knowing that it wouldn't really be a race. Anyway, was giving him a nice run and when I went to grab 3rd, my shift was pretty hard and the shifter just stuck their. Car wasn't in gear, it just revved. It took some force to get it out, but afterward, the car still shifted great and still does. This was the first time it's ever happened and was just wondering if what I'm trying to explain is bending a shift fork?

Any ideas?

You got between gates. If you have a std. aluminum 3/4 fork, it can also be damaged. You should have an aftermarket shifter with higher centering loads to help with the 2-3 shift. It is possible that you did no damage at all but you may want to upgrade before you do.

Yea the tranny hasn't been touched yet. I plan getting it rebuilt but not until I absolutely need to. I need a rear end first.

So is there anything I need to worry about right off hand? I mean it still shifts fine. I just don't want to pull the tranny and fix it if I can get by for right now.

Yeah I do believe it's the shift fork. Just to make sure though, you did do the drill mod, correct?

I think mine may be a tad bent as well. When I go to the track, maybe 1 out of 20 times it just flat out won't go into 3rd. The rest of the time it's fine, so it's hard to justify a $1,000 rebuild when it only happens 5% of the time.

Drill mod was done along with the upgraded hydro's. Of course this was all done on a car that I swapped with.

Yep, drill mod was done along with 01/02 hydraulics.

The trans (and everything for the swap) came out of my car.
