Default AutoMeter Temp guage on a 6spd???

Has anyone used a AutoMeter Temp Guage on a 6spd trans? Or is it feasible to do on a manual trans. PLEASE let me know.
Thanks, have great weekend and God Bless Our Troops and the U.S.,

I did it. It works fine but temperature on a M6 isn't really something to worry about. It doesn't really change much. When I had mine I had to drive the car for at least 20 minutes before the gauge even got over 100 degrees. The highest it even got was 170 degrees on a two-hour trip. I would look into a different gauge, something more useful.

Ferocity02, Where did you mount the sensor. I was just trying to cover all the misc. areas. I just bought the AF and the GP and was wondering about the Manual Trans. Thanks again for the info.
Thanks and have a great Sunday and God Bless Our Troops and the U.S.,

Oil temp would be a good choice.

DONAIMIAN, I never thought about a oil temp guage because I have the factory oil pressure guage. I also thought about just a Stewart Warner pod mounted shift light. My new guages are AutoMeter C2 and don't know if they make the same shift light. Thanks for the insite.

Go here http://www.xse.com/leres/ss/gaugepod.html for good istall info. As mentioned a manual usually does get very hot unless maybe road racing. My gauge temp usually shows about 150 after driving awhile.

For M6 tranny temp, you replace the drain plug with the temp sender. Probably not the best place for fast accurate readings, but it's the best we can do.

Ferocity02 , Thanks again for the info. I will probably try it. The plug is on the side of the Trans. correct and won't get broke off my car is lowered.
Thanks again, John Junkins
