Just how good is the factory Hurst shifter?

well heres whats weird on mine. My buddies has a 02 ws6 I have a 99TA, we both have the same shifter **** with the H but my throw is longer, his is shorter and feels way better. I feel like I'm rowing the gears in mine.

Chances are he has a short stick. Its a cheap mod (under 30 bucks) and it drastically loweres the **** reducing the length of throws. More importantly it eliminates the rubber vibration isolator on the stick, which makes your shifter feel much more precise.

Clay check the RPO codes. They are right, the BBS code is for the factory Hurst setup.

I have a Ripper, and quite frankly Im not happy with the throw and the fact that you cant put a short stick on it. Im considering either getting a true Hurst or Pro 5.0 and a short stick. Would it be worth it?

I have the Ripper and i love the nice tight feeling. it's not all loose. i think of it like my women... tighter the better

I thought the hurst was the base shifter in our cars with a "short throw" stick the added SLP option. Guess i was wrong? What is the code for the Hurst Shifter.

Get the pro 5.0 with a short stick. I have the UMI short stick with my pro 5.0 and I love it.

I went from the stock hurst shifter to the SLP short shifter with the ws6store short stick and i like it a lot better than the stocker. I would spend the money again if i had to.

If you plan on racing better get a new shifter. I broke mine last week at the track. The stick came out of the rubber mount slammin second.
